About the Artist:
Barbara Westfall is a Wisconsin artist specializing in the development and creation of art glass designs that weave the beauty and mystery of nature’s forms, materials and colors into people’s lives. She received formal training in glass and sculpture from the University of WI-Madison where she earned a BFA and an MFA. Barbara also served as an Assistant Professor of Art at The University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 2011-2014. She currently lives and works in her studio located in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.
Drawing inspiration from the rich colors of brandy, rum, bourbon and liqueurs, Barbara’s unique and locally made glass designs offer guests an opportunity to shop for one of a kind art pieces for their home or office. This solo art exhibit, hosted at Madison’s first distillery, gives guests an opportunity to support both art and artisan both with their own unique tastes and charm.
“The colors, forms and materials I see in nature inspire me. Glass, wood, shell, natural stone and stainless steel are the ingredients in my art. My creative process is intrinsically woven into my day-to-day interactions with the natural world. My art reflects my immersion in nature, and through my expressions of ecosystems I have learned to further appreciate the beauty and complexity of life on our planet.”
