The Gallery @ Yahara Bay Distillery Presents:
Gaia Series: The Earth is Alive
MADISON, WI: The Gallery at Yahara Bay Distillery proudly hosted: “Gaia Series: The Earth is Alive,” an art showcase featuring an intuitive collection of acrylic ink paintings by Madison artist Beth Racette. Racette’s paintings are an expression of her love for our planet and grow out of her desire to learn about and portray the many aspects of earth inspired by scientific learning and her impressionistic understanding of the universe.
The Gaia Series were on display at The Gallery at Yahara Bay February, 2017.
About the Artist:
Madison resident, Beth Racette, received her Masters of Fine Art from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Her work has been displayed all over the country, including New York City, Chicago and Denver. Currently, Beth coordinates community and education programs at Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, WI.
“For many years I have contemplated the interconnectedness of life and the processes of the flow of history, transmission of ideas, and creative improvisation. I have tried to cast a wide net with this series of paintings and explore as much as I can to synthesize my findings visually. Gaia, the name the Ancient Greeks gave to the Earth Goddess, is the perfect name for this series, as it truly explores the macro and micro aspects of the Earth, showing the living and self-regulating complexities of our planet.”
